The Loi visant à aider les personnes victimes d’infractions criminelles et à favoriser leur rétablissement provides for several types of financial assistance for rehabilitation that are designed to, among other things:
- eliminate and reduce the psychological or physical disability of the victim or rescuer
- to allow the victim or rescuer to develop his or her residual capacity in order to compensate for the functional limitations resulting from the injury suffered as a result of a criminal offence or an act of good citizenship
These financial aids facilitate the victim's or rescuer's return to work or school, or simply the resumption of their usual activities.
